Famous Bauhaus designers: German-American architect and founder of the Bauhaus School. He is also regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modernist architecture. Söre Popitz, a German graphic designer who studied at the Bauhaus, the only known woman to have pursued a career in this field after Bauhaus. Josef Albers, a German-born artist, and educator. The influence of Bauhaus and De Stijl is evident in Veronica Ditting's work. She is a designer and creative director based in London, creative directs the biannual women's magazine The Gentlewoman as well as works with fashion houses, artists, and art institutions, and has her own design agency 'Veronica Dittig'.
“..combination of my interest in the Bauhaus and studying at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, whose educational model was strongly influenced by the functionalist and socially critical ideas of De Stijl and the Bauhaus strongly influenced my vocabulary.”
The clarity of visuals but also the rationale of practical values, such as only using lowercase letters in order to save time and costs, grids, symmetry, and limited colour palette are things linking her artworks to Bauhaus style.
